The Canterbury Bulldogs have granted forward Tom Amone an immediate release from his contract, allowing him to leave the club and pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Amone recently returned to the NRL after spending three years with the Leigh Leopards in the Super League.
Despite his experience and previous success overseas, he struggled to secure a spot in the Bulldogs' first-grade side and spent most of his time playing in the NSW Cup competition.
The club acknowledged his potential but ultimately decided to part ways with him to allow him to explore other options.
Amone's departure marks the end of his brief stint with the Bulldogs, and he is now set to return to the Super League competition.
The statement released by the club confirmed the decision, stating, "The Club has agreed to terms with Amone, granting the release so he can take up an opportunity at another Club." Though his time with the Bulldogs may not have gone as planned, Amone's past performances and versatility as a forward are likely to make him a valuable asset for any club looking to add depth to their roster.
His departure from the Bulldogs opens up space for him to potentially make an impact elsewhere, allowing him to seek out new opportunities and continue his professional rugby league career.
