Bulldogs crippled by suspensions, facing nine-match ban

The Canterbury Bulldogs have been heavily impacted by suspensions following their recent loss to the Brisbane Broncos, with four Grade 2 charges handed out by the NRL's match review committee.

Second-rower Sitili Tupouniua received the biggest suspension, facing two separate charges.

His first offence, a Grade 2 shoulder charge on Brendan Piakura, resulted in a sin bin and a three-match suspension due to it being his second offence.

He also received a charge for dangerous contact, which could add another two matches to his suspension if he does not plead guilty.

If he chooses to fight the charges and loses, the suspension could rise to four matches.

This means that Tupouniua could potentially be out of action for a total of five matches if he contests the charges and receives the maximum penalty.
