Legacy of Legends Looms as Bulldogs Celebrate '95 Triumph
Bulldogs fans of a certain age will always remember the unforgettable moment when Terry Lamb lifted the Premiership trophy after the 1995 Grand Final.
The skipper led his team to victory in a match deemed unwinnable against a dominant Manly side that had only lost twice throughout the season.
While Lamb was expected to retire after the match, he later decided to play one more year in 1996.
The pain from their 1994 Grand Final loss to Mal Meninga's Raiders fueled the Bulldogs' drive to succeed in 1995.
This coming Sunday, the Bulldogs will commemorate the 30th anniversary of their surprising 17-4 victory over Manly.
To mark the occasion, Canterbury has moved their home game to Allianz Stadium, the site of their triumph.
They will don a special throwback jersey and hold a reunion event before the game, with nearly all former players expected to attend, flying in from places as far away as Queensland and New Zealand.
