The Canterbury Bulldogs have reached a verdict on the future of rising star Karl Oloapu, who has been the subject of ongoing speculation about his departure from the club.
Once hailed as a top talent in his early years, Oloapu made a bold move by joining the Brisbane Broncos at a tender age of 13, only to later switch sides to the Bulldogs in a high-profile transfer deal.
However, his time at Belmore has now reached its conclusion.
Despite showcasing his potential with a promising debut in 2023 and appearing in seven matches, Oloapu's 2024 NRL season was cut short due to a serious spinal surgery.
This setback led to the decision for both parties to part ways, with the club officially releasing Oloapu from his contract.
"This has been a tough road for Karl and his loved ones," said Bulldogs GM of Football Phil Gould in a heartfelt statement.
As the Bulldogs bid farewell to Oloapu, it marks a new chapter in the young player's career, with the hope that he can bounce back stronger from this setback and return to the field with a renewed vigor.
