The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are making roster changes as they prepare for the 2026 NRL season, just two wins shy of reaching this year's grand final.
Utility player Drew Hutchison is one of the players being released after not appearing in an NRL match this season. According to The Daily Telegraph, Hutchison will not receive a contract extension following a lackluster season where he played 13 games in 2024.
Joining Hutchison in his departure is Blake Wilson, who has signed a two-year deal with the Manly Sea Eagles. Hutchison is nearing the end of his playing career, having previously participated in 75 matches for the St George Illawarra Dragons (2015-2017) and the Sydney Roosters (2019-2023).
The 30-year-old may pursue opportunities in the Super League if there is interest in his skills. Alternatively, due to his versatility, he could be a valuable backup option for various NRL clubs.
In addition, the Bulldogs have confirmed that Luke Smith has also left the club after making just two first-grade appearances during the 2025 NRL season.
