The upcoming 2024 NRL Grand Final will not only signal the end of an era for the Penrith Panthers but also mark a bittersweet moment for close mates Moses Leota and James Fisher-Harris, as it will be their final game together at the club level.
Fisher-Harris' upcoming move to the New Zealand Warriors, driven by family commitments, has prompted the duo to give their all in pursuit of one last premiership victory.
The two pals, who first crossed paths over a hearty Charcoal Chicken feed, have come a long way since their teenage years when they first started their Rugby League journey together.
"It all started with that meal at Charcoal Chicken.
I didn't know him at all at the time, he was just another lad with the boys.
But that was the beginning of the friendship," Leota shared with Zero Tackle, reminiscing about their initial encounter.
Since that fateful meal, Leota and Fisher-Harris have forged a solid partnership in the front-row, playing crucial roles in the Panthers' impressive run of making it to five consecutive NRL Grand Finals.
As they gear up for one last hurrah, the mates will undoubtedly leave it all out on the field in a bid to secure that ultimate victory.
