The Brisbane Broncos have offered a new contract to off-contract forward Kobe Hetherington as they prepare their roster for the upcoming season.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, there were concerns throughout 2024 about Hetherington potentially leaving Red Hill, but he has thrived under the coaching of Michael Maguire.

Hetherington, capable of playing various positions in the forwards, is the son of renowned former QLD Maroons representative Jason Hetherington.

He has drawn comparisons to former Origin star Trevor Gillmeister for his diligent work ethic and aggressive play style.

Since making his debut in 2021, Hetherington has exhibited impressive growth, particularly over the past year.

He has started in 13 of his 16 appearances this season and notably represented the Prime Minister's XIII in a match against Papua New Guinea at the end of 2024.

Following initial discussions about a new deal in February, The Courier-Mail now reports that the Broncos have put forth a two-year contract extension, aiming to keep Hetherington at Red Hill until the conclusion of the 2027 NRL season.
