The Brisbane Broncos have claimed the NRLW premiership for the first time in five years, securing a thrilling 22-18 victory over the Sydney Roosters in the grand final.
The Roosters entered the match with an impressive record, having won every game in the 11-match regular season and through the finals. They aimed to complete an unbeaten season and clinch their second consecutive premiership.
Despite this, the game unfolded with dramatic moments as the Broncos initially established a 12-0 lead at halftime, thanks to tries from Tamika Upton and Jada Ferguson.
The Roosters responded fiercely, scoring three tries in quick succession within an eight-minute span early in the second half, putting Brisbane in a precarious position.
However, the Broncos fought back, leveling the match with a crucial try from Shalom Sauaso in the 60th minute. Hufanga then made a game-changing play, scoring the match-winning try, propelling Brisbane to their fourth NRLW premiership.
