The Broncos have enlisted the help of an Australian firm to rejuvenate the club, which finished second in the Super League during owner Hughes' inaugural year in 1997 and reached the Challenge Cup final in 1999.

Freshwater's partnership with London Rugby aims to enhance sponsorship and investment opportunities through NRL partnerships, alongside a modern rebranding of the club.

Freshwater director Jonathon Flegg stated, "the aspiration is to help catapult the club back into the Super League, with the strongest brand, membership, merchandise, venue, sponsorships, governance and on-field competitiveness." Currently, the Broncos find themselves near the bottom of the Championship, having secured only two wins from nine league matches this season.
