The Brisbane Broncos faced another disappointing defeat, falling 40-6 to the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday night.
It wasn't until the 60-minute mark that the Broncos managed to score their first try, as the Warriors executed an impressive 36-0 streak.
Chanel Harris-Tavita shone in the Warriors' victory, stepping into the halfback position after Luke Metcalf strained his right hamstring.
Metcalf exited the game after failing to convert Alofiana Khan-Pereira's try, which was scored in the 18th minute.
For Michael Maguire, his team allowed a total of seven tries, prompting the coach to be brutally candid about their performance in front of local fans.
"Not good enough, just plain and simple. We won't want to do that next weekend because we'll cop the same. It was really disappointing, that one. We're not playing the style that we know we've practised," he stated during the post-match press conference.
In another part of the discussion, Patrick Carrigan, who served as team captain, was queried about the players' motivation levels.
Before Carrigan had a chance to reply, his coach interjected.
"I reckon that's garbage. We're playing the team next week (Canberra) that's in the same boat. We're playing for the Broncos," Maguire asserted.
