The Brisbane Broncos have been hit with a devastating blow as one of their new recruits faces a season-ending injury, ruling him out of the entire 2025 NRL season.
Hayze Perham, who joined the Broncos in the off-season after rejecting offers from Super League teams and having previous stints with the Canterbury Bulldogs and New Zealand Warriors, suffered a ruptured ACL during a pre-season clash against the Gold Coast Titans.
The injury couldn't have come at a worse time for Perham, who was expected to play a key role as the understudy to star fullback Reece Walsh.
With Perham out of action, up-and-coming talent Latrell Siegwalt, the 2024 QLD Cup Rookie of the Year, now has the opportunity to step up as the Broncos' second-choice fullback following Tristan Sailor's departure from the club.
It's a tough break for Perham, but in true rugby league fashion, the team will have to rally together and find a way to overcome this setback as they kick off the new season.
