Brisbane Broncos coach Michael Maguire is gearing up to showcase a strikingly similar talent during the upcoming pre-season trials: Phillip Coates, who will don the Broncos uniform.
This 19-year-old winger is the younger sibling of the renowned Storm and Kangaroos player, Xavier Coates. Those within the Broncos' organization have noted that the similarities between the two are hard to overlook.
Phillip, who shares a comparable physique with the towering 194 cm Xavier, has trained with the Broncos since late last year and is expected to participate in the upcoming trial matches.
Broncos prop Corey Jensen remarked on the striking resemblance between the brothers, stating, "They're very similar - they move the same, look the same and talk the same." He added, "Phil's been really good. He did a lot of training with us late last year, and to see him come in full-time and experience the system has been great."
