The Brisbane Broncos have reportedly made a decision regarding the future of hooker Blake Mozer as they aim for back-to-back premierships.
A former two-time Under-19s Queensland representative, Mozer faced a challenging 2025 season due to a persistent shoulder injury, which limited him to no first-grade appearances.
Despite this setback, he is regarded as the club's long-term hooker alongside Cameron Bukowski and had shown significant promise in his eight games with the team last season.
Earlier in the year, speculation arose that the Broncos were open to loaning Mozer to another team. However, The Courier-Mail has reported that the club has reversed this decision, and he will now compete with Ben Hunt and Cory Paix for the starting dummy-half position in 2026.
With Billy Walters out due to an ACL injury and Tyson Smoothy transferring to the Super League, it's anticipated that Hunt will take on the No.9 jersey, with either Paix or Mozer stepping in from the bench as needed.
This configuration will enable Ezra Mam and Adam Reynolds to operate in the halves, while Coby Black and new addition Tom Duffy from the North Queensland Cowboys will provide backup.
