Brisbane has made a return to the NRLW grand final after a five-year hiatus, setting up an anticipated match against the Sydney Roosters following a decisive 30-6 victory over Newcastle.

The remaining three teams in this season's competition are the only ones to have ever secured the NRLW premiership. The Broncos showcased their superiority once more by overcoming the 2022 and 2023 champions in sweltering conditions at Lang Park.

This win marks Brisbane's first appearance in a decider since they clinched their third consecutive grand final title in 2020, a time when only four teams participated in the league.

During that championship, the Broncos faced off against the Roosters, and the elite teams will once again clash in this year's final, following the Tricolours' nail-biting triumph over the Sharks with a score of 17-16 on Saturday night.

Entering the October 5 showdown, the Roosters will defend their championship title and aim to cap off a flawless season with 13 wins out of 13 matches. However, they may find themselves as underdogs against the Broncos, especially after losing star playmaker Tarryn Aiken in their final regular season game.

Despite the comfortable score in the preliminary final, Brisbane's performance was not their best of the season, as they faced challenges in consistently completing sets during the second half.

Nonetheless, much of their success was secured before the break. Jada Ferguson scored from dummy half just five minutes into the match, with Kerri Johnson, Tamika Upton, and Lauren Dam contributing to the first-half tally.
