A try in the final five minutes from Mele Hufunga has led the Brisbane Broncos to their record-breaking fourth NRLW premiership in one of the greatest Grand Final matches in the competition's history.

Claiming their first premiership since 2020, the Broncos appeared defeated with just 15 minutes remaining on the clock. However, they staged a remarkable comeback, scoring back-to-back tries to claim the NRLW trophy from the Sydney Roosters with a 22-18 victory.

Though they had been winless against the Roosters in their previous five matchups, the Broncos controlled much of the first half, with New Zealand international centre Mele Hufanga asserting her presence on the field.

It was fullback Tamika Upton who first opened the scoring with a fantastic show-and-go, just moments after the Bunker ruled out a try by Hayley Maddick. Upton had recently made history as the NRLW's first two-time Dally M Medallist.

Dummy-half Jada Ferguson extended the lead going into halftime with a solid individual effort, but the second half belonged to the Sydney Roosters for the first 20 minutes.

After spending 15 minutes off the field due to a HIA, Brydie Parker finally got the Bondi-based club on the scoreboard in the 45th minute, marking her record fifth NRLW Grand Final appearance.
