Following Josiah Karapani's court appearance this morning, the Brisbane Broncos have issued a statement.
Karapani faced a charge labeled 'Provisional licence holder driving over the zero limit but not over general limit (0.05)'.
This situation arose when the talented winger encountered a roadside vehicle checkpoint in late June, where he registered a breath test result of 0.037.
Because he was on his P plates, he was required to maintain a zero alcohol level.
Additionally, the vehicle he was driving was uninsured and did not display his P-plates, while also being unregistered.
"I'm very sorry for my actions," Karapani expressed to the media as he exited the courtroom.
He pleaded guilty and received a three-month disqualification of his licence along with a $350 fine.
According to the AAP, Karapani's attorney, Abby Hawkins, stated that he is deeply remorseful for his misconduct.
"He was at a friend's house; he had consumed alcohol the night prior. He has woken up, and he concedes he has miscalculated," she noted.
No conviction was recorded against Karapani, but this does not signify that the penalties end there.
