The Brisbane Broncos' handling of Grant Anderson's contract has raised questions about his potential move to the club from the Melbourne Storm.

Although reports indicated that Anderson, who has a deal with the Broncos for 2026, had agreed to join, the official announcement has yet to be made over six months later.

After the Storm's Round 5 victory against Manly, in which Anderson scored a hat-trick, coach Craig Bellamy acknowledged his imminent departure.

He remarked, "It's a shame for us he's leaving next year...Whenever he's been in the team, he's done a good job." Bellamy highlighted Anderson's versatility, noting, "Whenever we're a back down, he'll go to the centres or the wing or in the halves or play fullback." He praised Anderson's contributions to the team and expressed a desire to have him leave on a positive note.

Anderson's performance has improved significantly, as he has solidified his position in the NRL after being in-and-out of the first-grade team.

For the upcoming Round 14 game against North Queensland, Bellamy has decided to keep Anderson on the wing, cutting Sua Fa'alogo from the lineup.

Anderson has scored nine tries in 10 games this season, leading to speculation about the legitimacy of his move to Brisbane.

On Triple M radio, journalist Michael Hooper pointed out that it is unusual for Anderson's contract to have not yet been lodged with the NRL, leaving the possibility for him to remain with the Storm open.

This situation has created uncertainty surrounding Anderson's future as fans and media keep a close eye on his next steps.
