The Brisbane Broncos will sport a unique 'Black Jersey,' shorts, and socks during their match against the Gold Coast Titans on June 7, in a bold move to promote mental health awareness.
This initiative coincides with the Club's Mental Health Round and aims to highlight the significant issue of mental illness in Australia, where nearly half of the population is expected to experience mental health challenges in their lifetime.
The jersey's design was developed in partnership with the Black Dog Institute, the Broncos' charity partner.
In addition to raising awareness, the Broncos plan to make a substantial financial contribution from the jersey sales to the organization.
Brisbane Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy highlighted the initiative's importance, stating, "It represents a broader issue worth speaking about." The event encourages discussions surrounding mental health, reflecting the Club's commitment to supporting related initiatives.
