Former Broncos player Corey Parker is criticizing the NRL's scheduling, particularly the late kick-off times on Thursday and Friday nights.
He is calling for earlier start times to accommodate young fans who may struggle to stay awake for the full game.
The current kick-off time of 8pm AEDT (7pm in Queensland) means games often don't finish until close to 10pm, which Parker believes puts younger fans at a disadvantage.
He argues that this late scheduling especially affects families, as blockbuster matches like State of Origin and the Grand Final can run late into the night.
Parker explained his concerns on SEN, stating, "In Queensland, by the time the game is finished, it's not too late." This issue may prevent young fans from enjoying the entire game and witnessing crucial moments.
Parker's plea for earlier kick-off times stems from his desire to make NRL games more accessible and enjoyable for all fans, especially those who may struggle to stay up late.
