The injury troubles for the Brisbane Broncos have intensified, as key player Payne Haas is likely to join Reece Walsh on the sidelines, impacting the team drastically.
Haas was seen in discomfort late in the matchup against the Tigers, visibly upset while clutching his right knee after a tackle.
The situation appeared to be severe, and coach Michael Maguire did not alleviate worries when he spoke to the media post-game.
"Payne's got a few issues there with his knee. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's a medial," Maguire stated.
"Four weeks (sidelined) maybe? I don't know. It's up to the doctors but yeah he'll probably spend a bit of time on the sideline."
Depending on the injury's severity, Haas could potentially miss the first State of Origin game in Sydney scheduled for May 27.
Additionally, Kotoni Staggs suffered a ligament tear in his foot during the first half of the game.
Despite the injury, he played on, and his future availability will depend on forthcoming scans.
Meanwhile, fullback Jesse Arthars also exited the game early due to a right calf injury, with updates regarding his status to be provided later.
