Matty Johns has issued a striking message to the Broncos following their decision to rename a conference room that previously honored Gorden Tallis, asserting that the organization has appeared "pretty petty and pretty small."
Earlier this week, CODE Sports reported on the Broncos' choice to honor NRLW icon Ali Brigginshaw instead. This revelation came through an email from CEO Dave Donaghy to the staff confirming the change.
Donaghy stated in his message, "Brisbane Broncos recognise the positive contributions and ongoing support of a number of club legends by way of naming various meeting rooms within the Clive Berghofer Centre."
He further elaborated, "The naming of the Ali Brigginshaw meeting room recognises her outstanding contribution to the Broncos club since the inception of the NRLW program, including leading the Club to four NRLW Premierships."
This shift came after Tallis, an outspoken former player, criticized captain Adam Reynolds earlier in the week and is also involved in a protracted feud with coach Michael Maguire regarding coaching issues.
While Tallis himself downplayed the situation and claimed he was "fine with it," Johns presented a contrasting stance on Sunday, delivering a strong message to the Broncos.
