The Brisbane Broncos captaincy situation has been settled following Adam Reynolds' strong statement regarding his desire to lead the team under new coach Michael Maguire.
The 34-year-old playmaker, who battled injuries throughout the season, is eager to continue wearing the captain's armband as the Broncos enter a new era with Maguire at the helm.
Former Broncos legend Gorden Tallis, a three-time premiership winner with the club, has thrown his support behind Pat Carrigan to take over the captaincy duties after a turbulent season that saw Brisbane finish in 12th place and part ways with former coach Kevin Walters.
Despite the speculation, Reynolds remains optimistic about retaining the captaincy but acknowledges that the final decision lies with the club.
"I'd be honored to lead the team next season, no doubt about it," Reynolds expressed to The Courier Mail.
"But if the Broncos decide to go in a different direction, I'll accept it with grace and move forward."
As the Broncos look to rebuild and reclaim their former glory, the captaincy issue has been resolved, paving the way for a fresh start in the upcoming season.
