Broncos Boost Willison's Contract Extension

The Brisbane Broncos are poised to secure a larger contract for their promising front rower, Xavier Willison.

Previously, The Mole reported that Willison was in line for a three-year deal worth $950,000 annually, set to run until the end of 2030.

However, fresh information from The Courier Mail indicates that Willison is expected to sign a significant three-year extension valued at $3 million, translating to over $900,000 each season.

Brisbane was caught off guard by rumors suggesting that Willison might decline the extension, which stemmed from his uncertainties regarding the club's direction under coach Michael Maguire.

From November 1, Willison was eligible for other clubs to make offers.

Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy shared that the club is optimistic about Willison's future with them.

"We'd love Xavier to stay, and we'll work through that in the background," he stated.

"Xavier knows the future we see for him at the Broncos."

"The great thing about Xavier is that he loves the footy club. He's always wanted to play in the Broncos jersey, and he's living out that dream."
