The NFL's Australian push intensified with the San Francisco 49ers facing the Los Angeles Rams at Melbourne's MCG in the competition's historic opening round.
Brisbane Broncos fullback Reece Walsh attended the game before being appointed a Seattle Seahawks ambassador.
The Seahawks confirmed the arrangement last week through their 12s Everywhere Ambassador Program, which connects the club with influential figures in international markets.
Canberra Raiders second-rower Hudson Young has also joined the program as an ambassador.
The partnership gives Walsh greater exposure in the United States while helping Seattle strengthen its Australian following through a leading young NRL star.
The 24-year-old is already among the competition's most recognisable players.
Walsh's manager, Nash Dawson, helped arrange the agreement through his management agency.
Dawson is serving a nine-month ban on communicating with NRL clubs after an altercation with fellow player manager Chris Orr.
His suspension is due to end today, Friday, September 18, allowing him to resume direct communication with clubs.
