Brisbane hooker Mozer faces uncertain future

A young gun labelled ‘next Cam Smith’ is set to leave Broncos. These FIVE teams could sign him

Blake Mozer has made 16 NRL appearances since his 2023 debut, all from the bench, and can now seek a move away from Brisbane.

CODE Sports reported that the Broncos gave the 22-year-old permission to leave immediately, despite his contract running through the end of 2027.

Once viewed as a future star and compared with league great Cameron Smith, Mozer's progress has been interrupted by injuries.

He has also faced competition for the hooker role from Billy Walters, Cory Paix and Tyson Smoothy.

Brisbane tried to arrange loan spells with the Bulldogs and St Helens this season to provide Mozer with more game time, but neither move eventuated.

The Broncos have since signed Walters and Paix to new deals, further narrowing Mozer's opportunities at the club.
