England and Titans Star Eyes Return to Origin Arena
AJ Brimson took a significant step in his career last year by committing to England, which effectively eliminated his chances of playing in the State of Origin.
Last May, the International Rugby League board granted him clearance to represent England, after he had participated in several games for Australia during a 2019 nines tournament.
This year, following changes to the eligibility rules for Tier 1 nations in February, Brimson's return to the Queensland Origin team is now a possibility, contingent on his performance.
"I'm probably a bit biased when I say I think it's good for the game, but I guess time will tell how it kind of all pans out," Brimson remarked during a conversation with NRL.com.
"But for me personally, when I made the decision to represent England, it wasn't something that I thought was in the cards of being able to play Origin anyway.
"But, it's nice to be potentially available for Origin again."
Brimson was firm in his decision from last year; however, he couldn't ignore the emotional connection he feels as a Queenslander when Origin season arrives.
"You make the decision, and you're very excited to try and play for England, but then, you still come to when the Origin comes around and … it is tough to not even be in contention or be available to get selected.
"But I was still watching last year's series just as passionately and spraying all the Blues and things like that."
