Brimson among six NRL stars in England Ashes squad
Titans utility AJ Brimson is poised to make his international debut in the upcoming Ashes series after being named in the England squad.
He is one of six NRL players included in the 24-man England lineup for the three-match series starting on October 25 at Wembley Stadium.
Brimson, a former Queensland Origin representative, successfully switched his international eligibility from Australia to England earlier this year, aiming to represent his mother's English roots.
Although he participated for Australia in the 2019 World Cup 9s, an International Rugby League hearing determined that, since the tournament was a one-off event, he could alter his allegiance to England.
Upon being cleared to play for England, the 27-year-old stated, "I wanted to represent my mother's heritage."
St Helens leads with the most players, contributing five to the squad, while Super League runners-up Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos, and Hull KR each have three players represented.
From Wakefield Trinity, Mike McMeeken and Tom Johnstone are included, with Williams as the lone representative from Warrington Wolves.
