Brigginshaw to Lead Jillaroos Fresh from Broncos' NRLW Win
Ali Brigginshaw has been appointed as a co-captain of the Jillaroos after playing a pivotal role in the Brisbane Broncos' fourth NRLW premiership victory.
Brigginshaw was instrumental in the Broncos' 22-18 win over the Sydney Roosters, who had previously remained unbeaten, during the NRLW grand final held at Stadium Australia on Sunday.
At 35, she has been a key player in each of the Broncos' championship successes since the inaugural NRLW season in 2018.
Alongside Kezie Apps, Brigginshaw will captain the Jillaroos in upcoming Tests against Fetu Samoa on October 26 and New Zealand on November 2.
The squad features four Broncos players, including Brigginshaw, Dally M medallist Tamika Upton, Keilee Joseph, and Julia Robinson.
The Roosters, who dominated as minor premiers, will have their representation through captain Isabelle Kelly, Rima Butler, Keeley Davis, Jocelyn Kelleher, Olivia Kernick, and Jess Sergis.
Butler and Kelleher are among five uncapped players selected in coach Jess Skinner's squad.
"This is a strong squad with a number of established Jillaroos as well as players who have progressed to this level through their form in the NRLW competition," Skinner said in a statement.
