The St George Illawarra Dragons have proudly announced the winner of their 2024 Indigenous Jersey Design competition, with Brendon Garlett's artwork 'Spirit of Connection' taking the top spot.

The design, chosen by the club's staff, players, and local Elders, features symbolic arches at the bottom representing the mountains and the Indigenous men and women who are part of the Dragons.

The artwork also depicts the players' connection with Mother Earth, stretching from the Cooks River to the Clyde River, showcasing their belonging to country and connection to land, culture, ancestry, and identity.

Additionally, the players' totems - the goanna, whale, dolphin, and black duck - are prominently featured in the design, highlighting their connection to their tribal groups and each other.

The footprints on the side of the design symbolize the physical connection to the land and the journey of the players.

The unveiling of the winning design has been met with excitement and pride from the Dragons and their supporters.
