Brave Player Overcomes Serious Injury

The Bulldogs forward, Max King, has quickly become one of the standout stories of the round after displaying remarkable bravery by playing through a broken jaw during his team's impressive victory against the Panthers.

After suffering the injury, King remarkably continued to compete for an additional 24 minutes, momentarily stepping off the field due to a severe collision before rejoining the game.

The injury happened in the eighth minute, a result of a high tackle from Casey McLean, which subsequently led to McLean receiving a 10-minute sin-bin and later facing a 1-2 match suspension.

In spite of the injury's seriousness, King delivered an exceptional performance for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, wrapping up the match with 13 runs for 103 metres and an impressive 36 tackles, missing only one.

In a statement to News Corp, Bulldogs CEO Phil Warburton disclosed the injury's severity, revealing that post-match scans indicated a fracture.

"Max has had scans on his jaw, and it shows there's a break in there, which is far from ideal," Warburton reported.

He added, "Clearly, this is just another indication of Max's toughness and what his teammates mean to him by playing in one of the toughest positions on the field with a significant injury."

Furthermore, Warburton commented, "One thing we know about Max also is he's loaded with resilience, having come back from injury before, so no doubt he'll be pushing to get back as soon as he's fit and able."

As King recuperates from his broken jaw, he is anticipated to be sidelined for up to four weeks, posing a considerable challenge for the Bulldogs as they move forward in their campaign.
