Bradman Best could miss remainder of NRL season in massive new blow for Newcastle Knights

In a cruel twist of fate, Bradman Best, the Knights' shining star and NSW State of Origin hero, may be sidelined for the remainder of the NRL season due to yet another hamstring injury.

The young gun centre hobbled off the field early in the Knights' clash against Brisbane last weekend after a footrace with Reece Walsh, adding to his string of hamstring setbacks.

Best had previously injured his left hamstring in Round 11, forcing him to sit out several games and miss out on representing NSW in Origin 1.

Despite undergoing scans on his right hamstring prior to Origin 3, he bravely took to the field and helped the Blues reclaim the Origin shield after a three-year drought.

However, the Knights' gamble to play Best just days after the intense Origin series proved costly, as he re-injured his left hamstring against Brisbane.

Initially downplaying the severity of the injury, the Knights now face the harsh reality of Best's potential month-long absence.

With only a handful of games left before the NRL finals, the Knights may need to make the tough call to sideline Best for the rest of the season if their playoff hopes dwindle in his absence.

The Knights are no strangers to adversity, but losing their star player at such a crucial juncture could prove to be a major blow in their quest for finals glory.
