The South Sydney Rabbitohs sensation, Latrell Mitchell, has been given a leg-up for the 2025 NRL season following his standout performance in the All-Stars game.
The star player may find himself at a crossroads in the near future with a big decision looming on the horizon.
Mitchell, known for his stellar showing as player-of-the-match for NSW in State of Origin Game 2, has been putting in the hard yards during the off-season after a tumultuous 2024 campaign with the Rabbitohs.
Despite his initial success, Mitchell faced adversity with a foot injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season, as well as a one-game suspension and hefty fine for off-field misconduct.
In a twist of fate, the NRL ruled that Mitchell was unable to serve his suspension while injured, leaving him in a bind for the upcoming season.
With the Kangaroos also opting not to select him for international duties, Mitchell found himself in a precarious position heading into 2025.
Speculation arose regarding the potential movement of the All-Stars game to the end of the season, providing players with more recovery time.
However, reports suggest that the pre-season showcase will likely remain in its traditional slot, offering Mitchell a chance to shine early in the year.
While the NRL schedule is still being finalized, sources indicate that the All-Stars game won't be shifted just yet, setting the stage for Mitchell and the Rabbitohs to make their mark in the upcoming season.
