Less than 24 hours since coach Michael Maguire laced up his boots and named the NSW Blues squad for Game 3 of the State of Origin series, the team has taken a hit with a major injury concern.
As reported by The Daily Telegraph, centre Bradman Best has copped a knock to his hamstring and has been sent for some scans by the Newcastle Knights officials.
It seems like Best might be stuck on the sidelines for a bit.
Named to fill the big shoes left by Latrell Mitchell in the centres for Game 3, Best felt a bit of tightness in his hamstring.
The extent of the damage is still up in the air at this stage.
Getting ready for the worst-case scenario, Canterbury Bulldogs player Matt Burton has been given a call-up to join the squad as the 18th man.
Best had only just got his hands on a Blues jersey again, after making a comeback for Game 3 of the 2024 State of Origin series when it was revealed that Latrell Mitchell had picked up a foot injury over the weekend.
