The Blues won't be backing down after Queensland legends criticized their tactics against Reece Walsh in game one, with enforcer Liam Martin declaring they will be "going after" the young fullback in game two at the MCG.

Despite suggestions from up north that NSW targeted Walsh in the previous match, Martin remains unfazed and ready to stick to their game plan.

During game one, Walsh was forced off the field after a heavy hit from Blues rookie Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii, resulting in a concussion and a four-match ban for Suaalii.

While Maroons coach Billy Slater initially stayed quiet on the incident, other Queensland legends accused NSW of targeting their attacking star.

This has ignited a war of words between the two rival states, with Blues coach Michael Maguire firing back with a strong message to the Maroons.

Despite warnings from Queensland to lay off Walsh, Martin and his teammates are unapologetic and plan to continue putting pressure on the fullback to limit his impact on the game.

"I treat it the exact same.

It doesn't change," Martin stated confidently, ready to take on the challenge in game two.
