Blues lament Edwards' absence in Origin I debut

Edwards ruled out of Origin I

LeagueNews.co | Robbie Hamilton

Another blow for the Westpac NSW Blues as fullback Dylan Edwards has been sidelined for Game One of the 2024 Ampol State of Origin Series.

The Panthers flyer was all set to make his debut on the hallowed turf at Sydney Olympic Park this Wednesday, but scans this morning confirmed a nasty strain in his left quadricep.

However, Edwards will stick around with the Blues camp for support.

In a potential shining light for the Blues, the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) may give the green light for star James Tedesco to come off the bench as a replacement for Edwards.

If all goes according to plan, Teddy will be touching down in Sydney later today to join the squad.

A huge shoutout to the Sydney Roosters for their cooperation and understanding in this situation.

Rugby League is a tight-knit community, and the Roosters have shown true sportsmanship throughout this process.

Here's hoping the Blues can rally together and come out on top despite this setback.
