Former New South Wales Blues and Melbourne Storm player Ryan Hoffman has criticized ex-teammate Aaron Woods for his remarks aimed at Queensland Maroons coach Billy Slater ahead of State of Origin Game 2.
Woods had criticized Slater for dropping Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans before the match in Perth, which Queensland ultimately won.
In response, Slater addressed Woods during a media event the day before the game.
He urged Woods to reflect on his words and the potential consequences of his statements.
Although Slater made a reference to former Queensland coach Paul Green in his rebuttal, he later retracted those remarks and issued an apology to Green's family.
Despite the fallout, Woods has remained firm in his stance, defending his comments.
However, Hoffman did not hold back in his critique, labeling Woods a "coward" for speaking out in such a manner.
