Sharks centre Ramien in the spotlight for Blues Origin consideration

The New South Wales Blues centre competition is heating up, with contenders from various teams showcasing their skills in Round 14.

Sharks dynamo Jesse Ramien stood out with an impressive performance, making a whopping 195 metres and breaking through two tackles as Cronulla clawed their way back to defeat the Broncos 22-12 at Suncorp Stadium.

While Brisbane's Kotoni Staggs had his moments, it was Ramien and the Sharks who emerged victorious, bouncing back from a rough patch in the previous weeks.

Ramien reflected on their recent struggles, mentioning that the team had learned valuable lessons during those challenging times.

Amidst the Origin series buzz, Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon commended Ramien's performance and expressed confidence in the centre's ability to thrive on the big stage.

With a nod to the tough nature of Rugby League, Fitzgibbon hinted that Ramien could hold his own in a New South Wales jersey if given the chance.

Time will tell if Ramien's stellar displays will earn him a coveted spot in the Blues squad.
