The NSW Blues are on the verge of achieving a historic first-ever series whitewash in women's State of Origin as they prepare to face the Queensland Maroons in Game Three.

According to nrl.com.au, the Blues have demonstrated dominance in the first two games, largely due to their formidable forward pack.

They will aim to maintain this momentum against a Queensland side that has significantly missed experienced forwards Shannon Mato and Tazmin Rapana throughout the series.

Under the guidance of coach John Strange, the Blues have developed strong combinations, particularly with their emerging halves pairing of Jesse Southwell and Tiana Penitani Gray.

This duo has shown promise and is expected to pose challenges for the Maroons, especially in front of a likely large crowd in Newcastle.

The initial game at Suncorp Stadium set a record attendance for a women's State of Origin match, with 26,022 spectators.

The second game saw another notable turnout, as 16,026 fans braved adverse weather conditions to witness the Blues clinch the series with a 26-6 victory at Allianz Stadium.

Despite their struggles, the Maroons can draw motivation from last year's performance in Newcastle, where a late field goal by Lauren Brown allowed them to snatch a win and alter the series' momentum.
