Blayke Brailey, the hooker for the Sharks, has been named the 2023 Porter Gallen Medalist, which is awarded to the Sharks Ponitfex Jewelers Player of the Year.
Brailey stood out throughout the season, making a total of 1057 tackles, the most of any player in the NRL.
Despite weighing only 80kg, Brailey fearlessly faced off against much larger opponents, putting his body on the line for his team.
His impressive skills from the dummy half position also caught the attention of Origin coach Brad Fittler, who called Brailey into camp ahead of game two.
It is no surprise that Brailey was chosen as the winner of the prestigious Porter-Gallen Medal for the 2023 season.
The award was presented to him by club legend Paul Gallen, with the medal bearing the names of both Gallen and Cronulla's first captain Monty Porter.
In addition to winning the main prize, Brailey was also voted the Sharks Tommy Bishop Player's Player by his teammates, further recognizing his outstanding contributions to the team.
