The Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles have reported a brutal defeat at the hands of the Sydney Roosters in the NSW Cup, with a final scoreline of 58-6 painting a grim picture of their performance at Wentworth Park on a cold and windy afternoon.
The Roosters wasted no time in establishing their dominance, scoring five tries in the first half to take a commanding 32-6 lead at the break, ultimately finishing with an impressive tally of 10 tries.
This heavy loss marks a low point in Blacktown Workers' season, leaving fans and players alike disappointed.
Despite the lopsided result, there were some silver linings for the Sea Eagles.
NRL veteran Lachlan Croker made his return to the field after an extended absence, providing a much-needed boost to the team.
Additionally, prop Aaron Woods and center Brad Parker returned from injury, adding some experienced depth to the lineup.
The match got off to a rocky start for Blacktown Workers, falling behind 12-0 early on before five-eighth Jamie Humphreys managed to slot in a converted try in the 11th minute.
However, the Roosters continued to pile on the pressure, adding three more tries before the halftime whistle blew, leaving the Sea Eagles with a steep hill to climb in the second half.
Unfortunately, things only got worse for Blacktown Workers as the Roosters capitalized on their momentum, scoring five more tries after the break, with four of them coming in quick succession within a 15-minute span.
It was a tough day at the office for the Sea Eagles, who will need to regroup and bounce back stronger in their next outing.
