Billy Slater's cheeky banter with Daly Cherry-Evans has shown that he's not fazed by any Origin mind games.

Despite a few bumps along the way, the Queensland legend remains cool under pressure as he steers his team towards a potential third consecutive State of Origin series win.

With NSW coach Michael Maguire throwing jabs earlier in the week, many speculated that Slater might be feeling the heat.

However, the Queensland coach appeared unfazed and laid-back during a chat on Channel 9's The Sunday Footy Show.

Queensland's "pick and stick" policy, a nod to their historical loyalty to players, raised a few eyebrows when they dropped Selwyn Cobbo for Game 2 and brought in Kurt Capewell.

Despite the scrutiny, Slater's composure suggests that he's in control and ready to lead his team to victory.

Both Queensland and NSW have kept things relatively quiet in the lead-up to the big game, leaving fans hungry for any tidbit of information.

But as the tension builds and the stakes get higher, it's clear that Slater is unfazed and focused on getting the job done on the field.

And, as they say in the world of rugby league, he's got his eye on the prize.
