Big Ant CEO Ross Symonds has provided an update regarding the much-anticipated rugby league video game, regarded as "one of the worst-kept secrets" in the industry.

With images of player scans surfacing throughout the year, excitement among fans has been building.

Symonds has confirmed that while an announcement is imminent, it will not occur this week.

He emphasized, however, that fans shouldn't have to wait long after the announcement for the game's release.

"Yes, it's the worst-kept RL 'secret', but we still can't reveal the game," Symonds stated on X, previously known as Twitter.

He reassured fans by saying, "I do want to ease the tension a little, let you know there will be no announcement this week, but I guarantee that it's not far away - and the wait from announcement to game release will be very short."

Overall, fans can expect news soon, alongside a swift transition from announcement to availability of the game.
