Jayden Berrell, a contracted hooker for the Sharks, has been named the winner of the Brian Moore Memorial Trophy as the Newtown Jets Best and Fairest player for the 2023 season.

This is Berrell's second season with the Sharks and he has also been playing for NSW Cup partner club Newtown.

Despite a challenging season for the Jets, who narrowly missed out on a place in the Finals series, Berrell was a standout performer.

The award was presented at the 2023 Newtown RLFC Presentation Dinner, which was held at the Petersham RSL and attended by club sponsors, officials, staff, and players.

Alongside Berrell, other players were recognized for their outstanding performances during the season.

Daniel Atkinson was named Best Back, Kayal Iro received the 2023 Most Consistent Player award, and Samuel Stonestreet was honored as the Top Try-Scorer with 13 tries.

Mawene Hiroti was presented with the Ken Wilson Memorial Shield for the Leading Point Scorer, tallying 142 points from five tries and 61 goals.

In addition to his award, Iro was also selected as a centre in the 2023 Knock-On Effect NSW Cup Team of the Year, further highlighting his exceptional talent.

Kurt Dillon, a veteran front-row forward and former Shark, was the recipient of the 2023 Fred Daly Memorial Shield, recognizing his positive contribution to the club throughout the year.

Billy Magoulias, another Cronulla junior and ex-NRL player, was honored with the Players' Player award.

Overall, the Newtown Jets Presentation Dinner was a successful event that celebrated the achievements and contributions of the players, with Jayden Berrell emerging as the standout player of the season.
