It has been a ripper of a year for Newtown Jets hooker Jayden Berrell, no doubt about it.

The bloke was absolutely chuffed to be named in The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup Team of the Year, and then he helped lead his team to victory in the 2024 premiership over the North Sydney Bears.

What a legend!

At 29 years young, Berrell finally made his debut in the NRL with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

And let me tell you, he didn't disappoint.

The bloke was on fire, both on and off the field.

He even took home the Players' Player and Members Player of the Year awards at the Jets' end-of-season bash.

But it was that one epic cover tackle on Norths Devils fullback Jordan Lipp in the NRL State Championship final that really put Berrell on the map.

I mean, talk about clutch play! It was a true moment of grit and determination, a real display of Aussie sporting spirit.

All in all, it's safe to say that Berrell's had an absolute cracker of a year.

And who knows, maybe we'll be seeing more of his mad skills on the field in the seasons to come.

Watch this space, folks.

This legend is just getting started.
