Benji Marshall's coaching abilities are still under scrutiny, with whispers of some Wests Tigers heavyweights taking a 'wait and see' approach to his performance in the NRL coaching arena.
The Tigers are precariously perched in 17th place, teetering towards their third consecutive wooden spoon under Marshall's leadership.
In a recent revelation on NRL 360, News Corp journalist Dean Ritchie highlighted the lingering doubts surrounding Marshall's coaching prowess, with some key figures within the Tigers organization reserving judgment until they can assess his ability to steer the team to success.
Despite the looming possibility of yet another wooden spoon, Marshall acknowledges the pressure, describing it as "the elephant in the room." Ritchie, however, suggests that the real test for the rookie coach will be in the initial stages of the next season.
"My focus is not solely on the current wooden spoon debacle, but rather on the challenges that lie ahead in the first six-to-eight rounds of the upcoming season," Ritchie emphasized.
