In a fiery response, Manly boss Tony Mestrov has fired back at Roosters hooker Brandon Smith after he took a brutal swipe at Aaron Woods.
The controversy arose when Woods, along with other NRL players, embarked on a promotional campaign in Las Vegas to promote the upcoming season opener.
Smith questioned the choice of Woods, claiming that his highlight reel lacked the explosive plays needed to sell the game.
However, Mestrov staunchly defended the decision, stating that Woods' experience and transition into the media made him the ideal candidate for the role.
With tensions high, it seems the clash between Smith and Mestrov is far from over.
