The Bulldogs' home turf, Belmore Sports Ground, has etched itself into the Club's history with nine unforgettable moments that have become part of the fabric of the team's identity.
the upcoming Round 2 clash on Sunday, March 16 will see the final NRL showdown at the iconic ground for the foreseeable future, as plans for a cutting-edge Centre of Excellence are set to kick off at the year's end.
Although Belmore wasn't initially home to the Bulldogs in their debut season (Pratten Park got that honor), from 1936 onwards, this venue - originally dubbed 'Belmore Campsie Oval' - played host to the team until the year 2000.
During this era, the team basked in the glory of 330 wins out of 562 matches, boasting a respectable win rate of around 59% in front of their faithful supporters.
But it was in the early days that Canterbury truly made a mark, opening their second season with a thrilling 11-6 triumph over Wests - a strong statement after a rocky start in their inaugural campaign.
The newspapers of the time were quick to highlight the standout performance of fullback Tommy Kirk, who notched up four crucial goals to secure the memorable victory.
