Craig Bellamy has announced that he will extend his tenure as Melbourne Storm's coach into his 24th season, confirming his commitment to the team for the upcoming year.
According to au.news.yahoo.com, Bellamy, who has been awarded the Dally M coach-of-the-year seven times, has successfully led the Storm to 21 finals series and clinched NRL premierships in 2012, 2017, and 2020.
"I've always said that I will only keep coaching if the players, coaches and club believe that I still have something to offer," Bellamy stated.
He emphasized his dedication to developing players and fostering team cohesion, stating, "As mentioned last season, my focus remains on developing the players and helping them learn and grow together as a team." He expressed optimism about the current state of the squad, noting, "the squad is in a stable position and I'm looking forward to the improvement we can continue to make."
Furthermore, Bellamy highlighted the importance of not impeding the development of his coaching staff: "I also want to ensure by making this decision that I'm not holding back any of the coaches, who continue to play a massive role in the improvement of this team."
