Bellamy's Future in the Balance, Coaching 'Back Row'

‘Bit of a look’: Bellamy’s Origin role reveal

Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has confirmed he will join the NSW coaching crew for the upcoming State of Origin series, stating he won't hesitate to "throw an idea in" during camp and in the coaching box.

Under Laurie Daley's leadership, the Blues aim to defend their title, with Bellamy bringing 23 seasons of NRL coaching experience to the team.

While Bellamy is excited about contributing to the coaching staff that secured last year's win against Queensland, he emphasized that he will take a supportive role, indicating a willingness to collaborate with Daley's team.

Bellamy's involvement also includes his football boss at Storm, Frank Ponissi, who will continue working with the Blues, and there's a possibility of Melbourne's star fullback, Ryan Papenhuyzen, making his Origin debut.

Despite Bellamy's commitment to the NSW campaign, he reassured fans that this will not affect the Storm's chances in the NRL.

The team is set to face Cronulla on Saturday night, and Bellamy noted that captain Harry Grant's return aligns well with his preparations for a likely Queensland selection.

"We've got a couple of byes during it, so I'll be up there probably a little bit more than just the games," he explained, highlighting that his presence will include time beyond just the matches.

Bellamy is also "getting closer" to deciding his coaching future with the Storm.
