Bellamy Ready to Take Action After Heavy Loss to Penrith
Craig Bellamy has issued a stern warning to the Melbourne players, indicating his readiness to make significant changes if they fail to address their defensive shortcomings after the heavy loss to Penrith.
The Storm experienced a significant setback on Friday, suffering a 50-10 defeat against a dominant Penrith side, marking one of their lowest points since 2003.
This loss has left Melbourne facing a disappointing record as they head into next Saturday's game against the Warriors, having lost three consecutive matches for the first time since 2018.
While it's argued that no team could have matched Penrith at CommBank Stadium that night, Bellamy acknowledged their supremacy, labeling them as "head and shoulders" above the rest of the teams in the NRL.
However, the experienced Storm coach did not hesitate to voice his dissatisfaction with the team's defensive performance, as Penrith broke through their line an astonishing ten times.
"Some of the contact tonight was poor at best," Bellamy remarked following the game.
"That was the disappointing thing for me."
On a positive note, Melbourne is set to welcome back centre Moses Leo from concussion in their upcoming match against the Warriors, and Jack Howarth (hip) also stands a chance to return.
It's worth noting the Storm are currently missing several key players, with prop Tui Kamikamica recently sidelined due to a stroke.
